My interest in computer aided design came early in life and I was elected to become one of two selected to represent my high school class by attending an in depth training curriculum offered at the Calhoun Area Technology Center with a focus in computer aided drafting and design. During my studies, I was given an advanced CAD operator certification. Immediately after high school graduation, I was offered an opportunity to instruct CAD at the Calhoun Area Technology Center teaching troubled Michigan youth for the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy program. I maintained this position while taking CAD classes at Kellogg Community College where I graduated with my associates of applied science in computer aided drafting and design in 2001. Since graduation, I have pursued additional education related to Mechanical and Electrical engineering at Western Michigan University and Kellogg Community College Regional Manufacturing Technology Center where I'm still currently enrolled and active in continued education.
My professional career began directly out of high school teaching CAD to troubled Michigan Youth through the Calhoun Area Technology Center for the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy. After I left the academy I gained information technology experience working for a startup company providing internet services for local area businesses. I left that position after a couple years in search of greater challenge. My current career has been dedicated to ThermalTech Engineering where I quickly became an expert in CAD software and 3D design. My dedication to new technology and design has made ThermalTech a leader in BIM modeling and detailed design and analysis of mechanical, piping, and electrical systems. My project design experience spans process and non-process CHW systems, fines collections systems, steam and condensate systems, desiccant drier systems, plumbing systems and HVAC systems. I've gained experience working in a variety of facilities ranging from food and beverage, pharmaceutical and other industrial plants, universities, data centers, and hospitals.
When I'm not working, I enjoy operating a small family farm. In my youth I developed a passion for mid to late 80's 2-cycle motors. This passion has lead me to be a collector and restorer preserving these machines for future generations to understand and appreciate.
My life objective is to do the best I can and instruct others to do the best they can. I can only take my career and life so far, but guiding others to be successful and watching them achieve is the ultimate satisfaction.
